In Denmark, out of our comfortzone
Last weekend we have discovered the friday bar at the UCC. We played cards against humanity (crazy game but lot's of fun!) and table football. The next day I went to the city with two Dutch girls. We have seen the Rosenborg Castle where the crown jewels are stored and had a snack at the Tovernehallerne. Delicious Dahl, the next day we made our own.. which came close to the one we bought at the markethall. This Tuesday I went with a fellow student to the Copenhagen zoo after class. It was amazing! You could come really close to the animals and it was a nice and clean park. The next wednesday the weather was nice and sunny. We sat with the group in the park behind the UCC. A boy in our group played the guitar so we just chilled and try to catch as much sun as we could and afterwards we played volleybal (very fanatic.. one pants did not survived the game). Yesterday I went to Copenhagen with three girls of the group. We went to the transition of the guard in front of Amalienborg. They looked like little puppets of the nutcracker!
I haven’t spoken yet about the complexity of living abroad with nineteen strangers from different countries. First of all, this is a really fun expirience! You make friends for life. Yesterday I spoke about this with a couple of fellow students. It's an experience you can't really share with anyone else except the people over here. I could write and show everything, but still I can't give you the feeling of living in these containers and studying in Denmark. And that is what makes it so special! It’s way out of your comfortzone and yet predictable. Why predictable? Because there are some rules of groupdynamics which we all go through every single time we meet a new group of people. It’s similair to the first schoolday. You are a bit nervous of what’s going to happen and who your friends will be. But what I can tell you about this experience is that we all share the same feelings. Having lots fun, experiencing cultural differences, missing home and sometimes feeling a bit frustrated. But after all you learn a lot about yourself and others. We all have to give in once in a while, but we can count on each other because we are all in the same position. In Denmark, out of our comfortzone.

het is a life experience en het is goed om te horen dat de groep elkaar opvangt en dat allemaal in zo'n korte tijd dat jullie elkaar kennen. Wij zijn ook benieuwd hoe het stuk gaat worden. Veel liefs papa en ma
