Reisverslag Hello Oslo!
4 oktober 2015
In the weekend three dutch girls and me went to a park nearby the UCC. We walked a bit around and laid down near the lake. It was an amazing day! On monday (the day before the big day) we had the dress reheasal and practised with the props and side drops. We felt nervous that day. We all hoped that it would come to and end soon! At night we woke up to see the blood moon. It was a beautiful brief moment (it was so damn cold!)... we will never forget!
The big day arrived! The kids arrived in the morning. We dressed up, grabbed our puppets and went to the Salen. After two shows the preformance was done (by that time I was covered in glitter). We had a lot of fun, but felt relieved the play was finished. After the play we went down with our puppets so the kids could meet and greet with them. The kids loved it! They all touched the princess' nose. So funny!
In the evening the teachers organized a last-night dinner. With mixed feelings we went to the dinner. We would miss Denmark but looked forward to see Oslo. Some people in the group made a song for the teachers. We all sang along, they were really touched by the song! The teachers had a few presents in store too. They gave us a book of the ugly duckling of H.C. Anderson. One teacher gave us a very special, magical gift..... a potato! As long as you dieply believe, the potato will made sure your wishes will come true. It was a evening full of wonderful words and a lot of hugs. (... and of course I took my potato with me to Oslo ;)
The next day we emptied our containers, cleaned the kitchen and packed our suitcases and backpacks. It's time to leave, it's time for a new adventure!! The bus left the UCC at a quarter three to the harbour. The boat to Oslo left at half past 4. We spended the night on the boat. It was a lot of fun!! We danced and celebrated the birthday of a Dutch girl. We made her a heart shaped bag with wishing cards. She loved it! The next morning we woke up very, very early to see the sunrise. That was a beautiful moment.. I can't describe it just see the pictures.
The arrival to Oslo was horrible. We were directly splitted up into two busses. We had to get our keys at the SiO housing organization. After that we were brought to our residences. I felt really sad at that time, probably because I was so exhausted. But after a night of good sleep I felt much better. The room I'm in is very nice! The room mates are kind and the appartment has a pretty view over the city. It's good to have some privacy again.
On friday we had an introduction class and a tour at HiOA. We got our student passes and semester registration. At the HiOA it's more like in The Netherlands: very formal! At night we went to a party in st. Hanshaugen (a neightbourhood in Oslo). It was in another studentcomplex on the 13th floor. We had a really nice view that night, AMAZING! The next day I had breakfast with a friend. I bought some 'Skivet Gudrandsdalsost', which is carmalized goat cheese. It's a Norwegain specialty. The first bite we didn't knew what to think of it, but I really liked it afterwards!! In the afternoon we went with a couple of girls to Sognsvann to walk. So far we had sunny weather and we would like to be ourside as much as possible. It was a pretty place and the air is so fresh and clean! At night a roommate told me there was a chance to see the northern light at Songsvann. Around 8 ó clock we went to see it but unfortunately it was too cloudy. We could only see a green vage ray in the sky.
Today I went to the National Ballet. We got the opportunity to get a tour backstage! We saw the costum making and decor department, the practise rooms of the dansers and the opera hall. The building itself is a beauty too! Very modern. It's the pride of Oslo. You can aslo stand on the roof of the building which give a nice view. Enjoy the photo's!
